Google Gratification

category: General
Two thumbs up to Google - or would that be 8 billion? (# of pages they've indexed.) Not content with making the best search engine around, they've decided to invade the software field with top-notch products. Free. Read More → ^ TOP

Rapid Recovery

category: General
The kind folks at Vaden finally declared the treatment mostly-over on Monday. Apparently, I healed very fast (just two weeks) and the sinus is only a quarter- or half-inch deep as opposed to the 2.5+ inches when swollen. The fast recovery is due to a variety of factors, the most important of which seem to be keeping it very clean (showering every single day helps ... apparently they have people who don't clean it properly) and then warmth. Or maybe I'm just Wolverine and never knew it! :-)

In any case, I am very glad to be through with the treatment. I still have to put on band-aids and stuff (there's still a hole, after all) but not having to go in to Vaden every day and have the gauze packing changed is very nice. I feel so free all of a sudden! :)

For now, after a long duel with problem sets and in preparation for another round tomorrow, I will go to bed. I will write something ASAP about my trip to Annapolis from Feb19 to Feb21. ^ TOP

The 'RAQ'- three entries

category: General
I've started accumulating random information in the 'Rarely Asked Questions'. For the moment there are only three things in there, but I'll be adding more as I come across interesting things. Or, you could just give me a holler and I'll throw something up there.

The two main features of interest are:
- How to make Firefox accept all session cookies by default
- How to disable treat-zips-as-folders in Explorer

I also have an entry for which font I use in programming, but I guess that's not terribly interesting... :)
